The Position IISD’s Water Program is part of a cross-program collaborative effort to support the Scaling Urban NBS for Climate Adaptation in Sub-Saharan Africa (SUNCASA) project. This project focuses on engaging local partners and communities to design and implement nature-based solutions (NbS) to support climate adaptation and biodiversity in urban watersheds in sub-Saharan Africa. The project also aims to enhance gender-responsive and inclusive governance of NbS in these urban communities. The Policy Advisor, Biophysical Monitoring Systems will be responsible for developing and implementing biophysical monitoring plans to demonstrate the impact of SUNCASA’s NbS activities in three project geographies. To achieve this goal, we will combine our unique tax, investment, and sectoral expertise to produce challenging research and practical guidance to support the revision of incentives and the underlying investment architecture.
