Background The Health and Migration Programme, in close collaboration with the Health Workforce Department, developed the Refugee and migrant health: Global Competency Standards for health workers (the Competency Standards) in order to promote the provision of culturally sensitive health care to refugees and migrants, in moving towards achieving universal health coverage for all populations and leave no refugees and migrants behind.
