Deputy Project Director

Responsibilities : Under the supervision of the Project Director, the Deputy Project Director will contribute to ensuring effective implementation of project activities, partnerships management and due diligence of Consortia partners and build strong, sustainable partnerships. The DPD will work with the DP and coordinate with Program Coordinators daily management of the project as well as sub-award lifecycle in accordance with the IRC The Partnership Excellence for Equality and Results System (the ‘PEER System’ or ‘PEERS’). The DP and the DPD will each be based in one of the two countries of implementation. as such, the DPD will have more direct daily oversight of implementation in the country he/she will be based. Descriptif du poste The IRC began its operations in Chad in 2004 in response to the influx of refugees from Darfur to Eastern Chad. Starting in just one refugee camp, the IRC now provides life-saving assistance to refugees and local communities in health, nutrition and water, hygiene and sanitation (WASH) across 11 camps in Eastern Chad. In 2012, to respond to drought and food insecurity, the IRC extended its geographic coverage to the Guéra Province, where the IRC works in three health districts—Mongo, Mangalme and Melfi—to support the prevention and treatment of malnutrition among the local population. Since 2016, the IRC expanded its interventions to the Lac Province to respond to the Boko Haram crisis spilling over from Nigeria.
