African Parks Network (APN), est une organisation à but non lucratif qui assume l’entière responsabilité de la gestion directe d’aires protégées dans le cadre de partenariats à long terme avec les gouvernements et les communautés locales. Nous appliquons des principes de gestion d’entreprise et combinons les revenus issus de la valorisation de ces aires protégées avec ceux de bailleurs fonds et donateurs privés. Notre objectif est de parvenir, à long terme, à une durabilité à la fois écologique, financière et sociale de chaque aire protégée afin de contribuer au développement économique et à la réduction de la pauvreté des régions concernées. Actuellement, nous gérons 18 aires protégées dans 11 pays – Angola, Bénin, Congo-Brazzaville, Malawi, Mozambique, République Centrafricaine, République Démocratique du Congo, Rwanda, Tchad, Zimbabwe et Zambie – totalisant une superficie de 14 millions d’hectares.
