Descriptif du poste The IRC began its operations in Chad in 2004 in response to the influx of refugees from Darfur to Eastern Chad. Starting in just one refugee camp, the IRC now provides life-saving assistance to refugees and local communities in health, nutrition and water, hygiene and sanitation (WASH) across 11 camps in Eastern Chad. In 2012, to respond to drought and food insecurity, the IRC extended its geographic coverage to the Guéra Province, where the IRC works in three health districts—Mongo, Mangalme and Melfi—to support the prevention and treatment of malnutrition among the local population. Since 2016, the IRC expanded its interventions to the Lac Province to respond to the Boko Haram crisis spilling over from Nigeria. Working with vulnerable clients in IDP camps and surrounding villages, as well as one refugee camp, the IRC implements projects in health, nutrition, and protection against gender-based violence (GBV) across Lac Province.
