Purpose of consultancy To contribute to the development and implementation of national investment cases mostly on NCDS and mental health, but also on new areas such as digital health, health taxes, assistive technologies, access to medicine to support countries in developing legislative, fiscal and regulatory policies for the prevention and control of these conditions. Background  The United Nations Inter-Agency Task Force on the Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases (UNIATF) was established by the UN Secretary General in 2013. Its role is to bring the United Nations system together to tackle noncommunicable diseases and to promote mental health and well-being. Bringing together over 40 UN agencies, inter-governmental organizations, as well as the World Bank and regional development banks, the Task Force promotes a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach.  Under the Task Force, WHO and UNDP have developed a Joint Programme to catalyze multisectoral action on NCDs and mental health at the country level.
