Shipping Supervisor. Duties: The jobholder serves as the senior supervisory LE staff in the GSO/Customs and Shipping and Expediting Unit. The incumbent interacts with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the Ministry of Transportation, local Customs and the Ministry of Finance to manage full customs and shipping operations and services to ICASS entities in Nouakchott. The incumbent directly supervises LE staff in the section. The incumbent also manages the expediting personnel and the clearance of household effects for incoming and outgoing employees. The incumbent coordinates shipments for support flights. In addition, he/she is the main point of contact for personnel effect shipments coming from and going to six Dispatch Agencies in the United States and Europe, and is the main point of contact for local and international service providers, and for all issues related the shipments of effects and supplies. Further, the incumbent provides guidance on the vehicles’ sale process for American Officers at Post. The employee reports directly to the Senior GSO Assistant. Responsible for facilitating the shipment of official property, equipment and personal effects for State, AID, PDO, DAO and other agencies of the U.S. Mission.
