OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME The mission of theWHO Health Emergencies Programme (WHE) is to help countries, and to coordinateinternational action, to prevent, prepare for, detect, rapidly respond to, andrecover from outbreaks and emergencies. Within WHE, Country Health EmergencyPreparedness & IHR (CPI) unit is responsible for monitoring and evaluationof countries' preparedness for health and humanitarian emergencies, theplanning and country capacity building for critical capacities and the Secretariatof the International Health Regulations (2005). CPI has an all-hazards approachand involves all three levels of the Organization. CPI prioritizes support tothe most vulnerable and low capacity countries. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES Under the leadership of Head of WHO Country Office and the overall guidance of Programme Area Manager CPI, the incumbent is assigned the following responsibilities: 1.
