Depuis le début de l’année 2020, cet environnement politique et sécuritaire s’est assombri avec un renouvellement de conflits sur plusieurs pays du territoire, perpétuant une situation humanitaire catastrophique pour des populations affectées toujours plus nombreuses. De nombreux désastres environnementaux comme des inondations cycliques et la pandémie de la COVID-19 depuis mars/avril 2020 ne font rien pour améliorer ce tableau de besoins humanitaires aigus.
