The African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) has received financing from the African Development Fund towards the cost of the Regional Institutional Support Project for Public Financial Governance – Phase II (RISPFG) and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this Grant to payments under the contract for a Regional Development Capacity Co-ordinator. The services included under this project are consultative engagement and validation of regional needs and priorities which shall include coordinating and preparing a report on each consultative engagement with regional ATAF Country correspondents and other delegates from TAs, validating the priorities and other programme needs in each region for approval by the Manager Regional Co-ordination, elaborating the programmes based on the findings for implementation by the ATAF Secretariat and implementing the regional Work Programme.

African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) has received financing from the African Development Fund toward the cost of the Regional Institutional Support Project on Public Financial Governance (RISPFG). The  Short-Term Expert /Consultant will assist ATAF to develop a database of firm level tax statistics obtained from African countries on indicators related to the taxation of the digital economy, under Pillar1 and 2 of the OECD Inclusive Framework. The expert will also help the Domestic Resource Mobilisation team at ATAF to develop analytics tools that can be customised to the needs of African countries and used to analyse the firm level data from African tax administrations. The expert will help develop selected ATAF members’ skills in collecting the necessary data for analysis of the implications of the OECD Inclusive Framework Pillar Two Global Anti-Base Erosion (GloBE) rules.

Organizational Context and Purpose for the job: The Nigeria National Food Consumption and Micronutrient Survey (NFCMS) is a cross-sectional population-based survey in which data was collected in 2021, and a draft report was developed in 2023. The primary objective of the survey is to assess the micronutrient status, anthropometry, and dietary intake of the target population groups: Women of reproductive age (WRA), children (6-59 months) and adolescent girls (10-14 years). The survey also generates evidence on key factors associated with poor nutrition in these populations and hence informs policy and programme implementation. The NFCMS 2021 collected information on four distinct components: (1) socioeconomic and demographic information of households in the sample; (2) dietary intake (3) anthropometry and (4) micronutrient status through a series of biomarkers such as hemoglobin genotype, HbA1c, the status of iron and inflammation, vitamin A, folate, zinc, iodine, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B12, malaria, H. pylori, hemoglobin, plasma glucose, and helminths, which were analyzed from blood, urine, and stool samples.
