MEDA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATES
Background The Feminist Entrepreneurs Growing Green Economies (FEGGE) project is a 6.5-year project implemented by MEDA Economic Development Associates (MEDA) in partnership with Global Affairs Canada (GAC) funding. The FEGGE project focuses on improving the business enabling environment and facilitation of opportunities for women-owned businesses in the dryland and semi-arid regions of Tanzania. While project partnerships focus on women-owned small-medium enterprises (SMEs) and women entrepreneurs (WEs), the project also works with men-owned SMEs, men small entrepreneurs (SEs), organizations, and service providers to ensure understanding, acceptance, and value of women-owned businesses in Tanzania. Geographically the project focuses on implementation and partnerships with businesses and service providers with operations in Kilimanjaro, Arusha, Manyara, Dodoma, Shinyanga, Simiyu, Singida, Tabora, Iringa, and Njombe regions. These business partnerships will strengthen value chain linkages, both up and downstream, to sustainability work towards more inclusive, equal, and progressive value chains where women have increased opportunities to launch, grow, and market their business.
