Position: Help a Child Burundi is currently recruiting a Finance and Administrative Assistant to assist the Finance Manager by managing the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, responsible for Cash processing and record keeping of the day-to-day transactions in accordance with Help a Child Burundi policies and procedures. Specific responsibilities are as follows. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high degree of integrity, transparency and honest behaviour, understanding of both finance, administrative and procurement policies in Burundi. Responsibilities To assist the Finance Manager in ensuring that timely and accurate payments are made. Prepare all payments and make sure that they are properly coded and supported with relevant necessary documents. Ensure accuracy and completeness of payment documents in compliance to Help a Child Burundi and specific donor policies and procedures. Ensure completeness of supporting documents in all respect which includes authenticity of signatures, cross-checking attendance sheets and verifying payments made to service providers, beneficiaries and stakeholders. DRC has been implementing emergency response projects in Tanzania since the onset of the Burundi refugee crisis in 2015 in the three refugee camps in the Kigoma region, at the border with Burundi. DRC’s integrated projects for refugees, asylum seekers and host communities comprise sectors such as Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), Protection, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Shelter and infrastructure, General Food Distribution (GFD) and Livelihoods. The establishment of an office in Bujumbura, Burundi in 2018 aimed at strengthening cross border response and enhance the impact of its interventions to the Burundian returnees. In 2020, DRC implemented four projects in 2 provinces of Burundi focusing on protection and livelihood that were funded by ECHO, USAID, Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF) and Danida.  In 2021, DRC Burundi foresees a significant growth of its portfolio and is seeking to reinforce its current structure, policies, practices and capacities. Burundi is a small, landlocked country in East Africa, with a growing population of 11.5 million inhabitants and a staggering population density of 451 per km2, which makes it the third most densely populated country in Africa.
