La faillite de l’État se traduit par le dysfonctionnement des services publics, l’insécurité permanente, et l‘aggravation des tensions entre groupes armés. En mars 2013, le président, François Bozizé, est renversé par une alliance de groupes rebelles (Séléka) qui prennent alors le contrôle du territoire.
