Background The African Climate Foundation (ACF) is the first and only African-led climate change re-granting organisation on the continent. Through its grant making and thought leadership, the ACF seeks to support interventions at the nexus of climate change and development that have the greatest potential to deliver long-term socio-economic transformation and inclusive development. About the Energy Access and Transitions Programme Recognizing the critical importance of energy access and security to economic development and the realization of fundamental human rights, the ACF’s Energy Access and Transitions Programme works towards supporting the rapid scale up of sustainable energy solutions at both the national (and sub-national level) and across the continent more broadly. With a strong emphasis on supporting sustainable solutions that can unlock long term socio-economic development, the work of the Energy Access and Transitions Programme interfaces closely with questions of localization and industrial policy, regulation, finance, and trade.
