Conflict Prevention and Recovery Specialist. Duties and Responsibilities Under the overall guidance of the Resident Representative and direct supervision of the Deputy Resident Representative/Programme, the Conflict Prevention and Recovery specialist will be responsible for the smooth running of UNDP’s Sub-office of the Central and Eastern region of CAR located in Bambari and adequate supervision of field-based team, and be responsible for the sound finance and administrative management of the sub-office in accordance with relevant UNDP rules and procedures. S/he will be responsible for fostering collaboration within and outside the team, with UNDP partners, MINUSCA and other UN Agencies working in Central and Eastern region of CAR while demonstrating client orientation. S/he will work in close collaboration with programme, operations and project teams in the Country Office, operations staff in other UN Agencies and the local authorities to successfully deliver UNDP services in the area of operations. Background / Context  : The Central African Republic (CAR) faces tremendous humanitarian needs due to years of conflict and instability. As a result of violence against civilians and insecurity in areas outside urban centers, several million people are increasingly vulnerable. NRC has been present in CAR since 2014 and currently employs 17 international staff and approximately 170 national staff. NRC covers a large geographic area with activities spread across strategic districts throughout the territory such as Ouham Pende, Mambere Kadei, Sangha Mbaere and Nana Mambere in the West, Nana Gribizi, Kemo, and Ouaka in the Centre, Basse-Kotto in the southeast, and Lobaye and Ombella Mpoko in the SouthWest. NRC operates from three field offices in Bouar, Kaga Bandoro, and Alindao, and a country coordination office in Bangui, the capital city. NRC has been contributing to the humanitarian response thanks to the generous support of donors like ECHO, NMFA, SIDA, GFFO, UNICEF, UNHCR, ECW, AFD and OCHA (CHF).
