Plus d’un million de personnes ont été déplacées et toutes les parties au conflit sont soupçonnées d’être impliquées dans de graves violations et abus des droits de l’homme et du droit international humanitaire (DIH). Ces violations et abus incluent notamment le meurtre, la torture, les violences sexuelles et celles basées sur le genre. On estime qu’entre 3.000 et 6.000 personnes ont été tuées depuis le début de la crise de 2013 et ces chiffres ne cessent de croître en raison de la poursuite des activités des groupes armés. Les chiffres ci-dessus énoncés ne reflètent donc pas l’ampleur réelle des crimes commis et leur impact sur la société centrafricaine.
