L’élevage de cette nouvelle souche plus résistante que la volaille locale et moins contraignante que les souches commerciales est une alternative à la viande de brousse car elle est une source de protéine animal domestique.  Aperçu du programme EPP-P: L'USAID a financé un projet de conservation de la biodiversité du nord du Congo en diversifiant les moyens de subsistance des agents de la chaîne de valeur de la viande de brousse et en augmentant la production de volaille. C’est un partenariat entre la Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), une organisation internationale à but non lucratif de premier plan pour la conservation de la faune et de la flore sauvages, qui opère en République du Congo depuis 30 ans, et la World Poultry Foundation (WPF), des experts techniques de premier plan dans l'application des techniques de production de volaille pour réduire la pauvreté rurale.
